Just curious if anyone knows where the really good trails are located near here?

Craig,

Check out http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=1345. There are several good, local mountain bike trails listed there.

For more local resource links, stop on over to my blog at http://www.sherrimeyer.com/Blog. Look under Auburn Resources.

Sherri thanks for sharing! Have you had any experience riding the trails in Auburn SRA? They don't indicate difficulty level.

BTW - Love your photo tips on your blog

Quick Note - I edited your post to fix the links. For the links to work correctly you need to include the "http:"

Also, if you mouseover the "URL" button it will give you the BB code to link a word.

Cheers,

Craig

Thanks for fixing my links. This forum works a little differently than the other forums I contribute to.

Thank you also for your feedback re: my photo tips.

I have mountain biked most of those trails and the ones I haven't biked, I've hiked or ran. Your right about the trails not being rated as far as difficulty goes. I probably have that information around here somewhere. I will post that another time. For now, if you are looking for easy, your best bet would be the Quarry Trail. Head down to the confluence, cross the bridge heading to Cool and take the first left. Park there and hop on your bike. The ride is about 5.5 miles out. Most of it is pretty wide and there are a couple of fairly steep hills, but overall it's an easy trail.

Happy trails,
Sherri

Sherri: Checked back onto your photography site. The new, updated pictures are amazing! Thank you very much for replying back.

Will definitely keep checking for updates on your photography.

Graig: Have heard of the Quarry Trail before. Excellent Choice to start with.

Hi Elizabeth,

Yes, isn't that the trail that starts where 49 meets the American River and winds along the river up to the base of the quarry?

I think that is a nice ride and family friendly too!

Thanks,

Yes that is the same trail, which was mentioned. Family friend indeed.

You are very welcome.

There are a lot of good trails around the auburn area. Not sure what level your at, so I'm going to assume your about intermediate level, such as myself. I really enjoy the ForestHill Devide Loop. I think this trail is pretty strenuous, but extremely fun! When I can ride the entire loop without much strain. I know I am in good riding shape. When I haven't ridden for a while, and out of shape, I like to ride the Pioneer Trail outside Nevada City. This trail is good to get back into the rhythm of riding again. During the hot summer days, I usually head up to Tahoe. I like the Pioneer trail and Paige Meadows area. All these trails can be found at mtbr.com. I'm guessing you have checked out mtbr.com, but if not do it now. That site is awesome. Check out mtbsingletrack.com also. This site has a ton of local trails. And while your at it, please check out http://www.goldcountryforum.com. This is a forum I have been trying to get off the ground for the past year.
