My Girlfriend's Kitchen No Longer? 2007/10/20 22:43 Karma: 0
I just heard My Girlfriend's Kitchen has closed their doors. Can anyone confirm this? If true, what a shame. I know quite a few people who really seemed to love it and I was looking forward to trying it out.

I, too, just heard that MGFK is no longer open. I patronized MGFK when they first opened. While I did enjoy the experience of preparing the food, the caloric content for the meals was too high for me and Husband Jack; and we decided to move on. I do, however, give high points to the owners for opening a colorful business and for promoting their business with print ads and a colorful website. Perhaps the Rock Creek location in North Auburn was not ideal in that the Ralph's vacancy created a void. I do know, having owned a small business, that the owner must devote himself/herself to the business because growing a small business is all-consuming and super-demanding and family people cannot always make the sacrifice.

My Girlfriend's Kitchen is no more. It's an ex-Girlfriend's Kitchen at this point. A quick drive by reveals an empty storefront. With Ralph's vacancy problem soon to be taken care of (Best Buy has been in talks to move into the space), I believe we'll see an increase in traffic to the shopping center.

When MGFK first opened (what, eight months ago?)I prepared food with a lady who told me she had been going to a like business in the Rocklin area; so whether that business is still going is up in the air. I do believe that the supermarkets with their prepackaged meals/snacks makes for tough competition in price, variety and quality. Truly, consumer is king with these great choices/bargains/availability. Yes.
