Can anyone tell me if the home depot store is still slated for Auburn and if so, what is the physical address going to be.

Also, is it true that TJ's might be coming here too?

As far as I know, Home Depot is coming to town. They have already started preparing the site. It will be located across the street from Auburn Nissan behind Les Schwab and the GMC dealership.

Trader Joes is not coming to Auburn anytime soon

From the Sentinel:

RUMOR MILL – The Trader Joe’s rumor should be dead and buried, but it isn’t. The Two-Buck Chuck supplier for the area has no plans to open a store in Auburn in the next five years. That’s what their corporate office told me when I phoned after the rumors started flying initially. They are not going into the old Ralph’s store, which is being carved up into two smaller shops to make the building easier to lease. That doesn’t mean they will never open a store in Auburn and when the checkers were getting zip codes from customers, I’m sure they discovered that many came from this area. We have about four years left on that “five year plan” I mentioned earlier, so there is still a chance they could wind up in Auburn by 2011.

Thanks. I currently live in Novato, where they recently opened a TJ's. They were not going to open one here, but the citizens got a huge petition going to get them to come and they finally agreed. Now I think it is one of their buziest stores. Maybe we can start something similar here.

Roseville is a short jaunt from Auburn which is already glutted with shopping centers and terrible traffic on Hwy 49. I shop locally--saving gas--and shop at TJs monthly. We are lucky to have many choices here in Auburn and cannot sustain more traffic. Let there be some space around us.

Home Depot is going to be located right behind the dewitt center. Trader Joes in Roseville is great. It is not that far of a drive either.

While my husband will be thrilled with a local Home Depot, I can certainly manage the drive to Roseville for Trader Joe's. I would hate to see more traffic.
