The old saying “money talks” has never spoke so loud when it comes to political contributions made to Congressman Doolittle’s reelection efforts.

Now folks, remember that numbers don’t lie.

A simple breakdown of contributions to Mr. Doolittle’s campaign committee, publicly available on the FEC’s website, will tell you the following:

Individual Contributions:

• January – June 29, 2006 Total Contributions: $370,888
• January – June 29, 2007 Total Contributions: $154, 031
2007 contributions as a percent of 2006 contributions: 41%

PAC Contributions:

• January – August 16, 2006 Total Contributions: $301,594
• January – August 16, 2007 Total Contributions: $72, 136
2007 contributions as a percent of 2006 contributions: 23%

Now, what these numbers tell, obviously, is that Mr. Doolittle is receiving 59% fewer donations from individuals and a whopping 77% less from PACs!

Now, what these numbers tell is that 77% of companies operating their respective PACs have taken notice of JTD’s problems and withdrawn their financial support, while 59% of former individual supporters have withdrawn their financial backing.

Now do not be surprised when these numbers become increasingly disparaging to the ever-shrinking Doolittle camp as more and more news bubbles to the surface regarding the Congressman’s pension motive and his second consecutive year being named to CREW’s Most Corrupt Members of Congress List (http://www.citizensforethics.org/node/30131). Let’s all stay tuned for an indictment of either Mr. Doolittle or Ms. Doolittle, too.
