INSPIRATION 2007/09/30 13:11 Karma: 4
Talk about inspiration: Just finished watching KING, the movie about the life of Martin Luther King, Jr starring the great Paul Winfield. It's an older movie but the message is stirring as is the acting. So relieving to have good films that inform and inspire. I enjoyed relaxing into a wonderful media experience with no profanity and nudity. Like I said: It's an older film, but highly recommended. I did rent this fine movie from Netflix and enjoyed it in the privacy of my home.

Still need to read the Jackie Robinson book you gave me. A movie about Martin Luther King Jr, an inspiration to all. He lead the Civil Rights Movement and fought for Equality throughout the United States in the 1960's. Do not have Netflix. Though heard it is the best way to go.

And the wonderful Sidney Portier has written a book about growing up poor and fighting racial injustice. Watch SEPARATE BUT EQUAL about the fight to desegregate public schools in the south. Acting is wonderful and the truths of the time are blistering and thought-provoking as to why individuals are so filled with hate toward someone because of the color of their skin. Uplifting movie and I've watched numerous times even though it is on VHS.

Sidney Portier in Separate But Equal sounds like a movie worth watching. Will look into seeing it soon. All the things you just mentioned continue down in the South.

Why don't people look at others from the inside of their heart to see the true beauty of a person.

We live in an imperfect world; but if we all contribute in positive ways, we can make our worlds shine and spread the good.

By being positive, we will be able to spread good to everyone and shine too. Agreed. We live in an imperfect world.

If only it would get better.
