Sierra College Presents “Chamber Music Alive!” Holiday Concert Featuring Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”

Sunday, December 2, at 3:00 p.m. in Dietrich Theatre

“Chamber Music Alive!”, the celebrated music series whose popularity and acclaim has grown through the years, is celebrating its fifth season with a special gala concert featuring orchestra and soloists. The concert will be given on Sunday, December 2, at 3:00 p.m. at the Dietrich Theatre on the Sierra College Rocklin Campus.

The highlight of the program will be a fresh interpretation of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” one of classical music’s most popular works, featuring an ensemble made up of some of the top professional musicians from throughout California. Ben Dominitz, violinist and music director of the series will perform as both solo violinist and conductor of the ensemble. A feature of the performance will be the recitation of the sonnets Vivaldi wrote to accompany the performance.

Also works by Handel and Boccherini

In addition to the Vivaldi, works by Handel and Boccherini will also be presented, including the rarely played cello concerto in C Major by Boccherini. The soloist for this work is Eric Gaenslen, cellist of the internationally renowned Rossetti String Quartet. Handel’s beautiful Concerto Grosso in B flat Major will round out the program.

Ticket prices for this fifth anniversary gala concert are set at:
General $35. Season ticket subscribers $25.

To purchase tickets or for more information, please contact the Sierra College Foundation at (916) 789-2920 or log online to www.chambermusicalive.org
