California Rivers Festival is put together by Friends of the River, California’s statewide river conservation group that advocates a common sense approach to preserving our wild rivers, restoring rivers that have been damaged, and promoting sustainable water management to ease pressure on all our rivers. The theme for this year’s event is “Preserve, Restore, and Sustain”. Our goals for this year’s event is to build awareness about the importance of rivers in our everyday lives and for the future of California; Provide fun, educational and recreational opportunities; Increase partnerships of agencies, community organizations, schools and businesses in River conservation efforts; Raise the profile of the purpose and role of participating agencies and organizations, and raise money to support the river conservation and water policy reform efforts of Friends of the River.
