The Sierra College Nevada County Campus Orchestra, directed by
Stephen Miller, will perform a fall concert on Thursday evening,
November 15, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Grass Valley Seventh-Day
Adventist Church located at 12889 Osborne Hill Road, Grass Valley.
This
performance is dedicated to the memory of Bonnie Carey, a beloved piano
instructor who taught for many years at the Sierra College Rocklin
Campus.
Included in the
program will be the Overture to "La Cenerentola" by Rossini; Piano
Concerto No. 21 by Mozart, featuring Keaton Hild, a 13 year old, winner
of several Music in the Mountains competitions. Hild spent the summer
in Italy studying with Richard Cionco of the CSUS faculty. Also
performed will be Symphony No. 9 ("New World") by Dvorak and "Air" from
the 3rd Orchestral Suite by J. S. Bach.
The program will
last about an hour. Music lovers of all ages are welcome and encouraged
to come to this free concert. Donations made to the Sierra College
music program will be gratefully accepted.
