A digital photo presentation showing some of the wildlife (with the accent on birds), flowers, and trees which can be found on or near the Tahoe Rim Trail. The 165 mile hiking trail encircles Lake Tahoe, and ranges from lake level to over 10,000 feet in elevation. The presentation will also include hints for hiking most of the trail in “reasonable-size” day-hikes.
Martin Meyers has resided in the Lake Tahoe area for most of the past 40 years and has been birding for 30 of those years. He completed hiking the final section of the Tahoe Rim Trail in the summer of 2007. Now retired from a Computer Science teaching career, he spends most of his time hiking and birding in California and Nevada. Martin is currently the secretary of the Nevada Bird Records Committee.
