One
of the most talked-about young pianists in the world today, Andrius has
toured with violin greats Gidon Kremer and Hilary Hahn. As a soloist he
has performed with the Boston, New York, and Cleveland Orchestras and
has been a Grammy nominee.
We will be performing works of Brahms, Mahler, and Shostakovich.
The
Mahler is a rarely performed piano quartet he wrote while still a
young man. The Shostakovich Second Piano Trio is one of the most
exciting, accessible, and powerful works of the twentieth century. It
was written right after the end of World War II.
