Auburn photographer, Kim Palaferri, will participate in the Auburn Art Walk presented by the PlacerArts on Thursday, August 14, 2008, from 6-9 p.m.
A selection of Kim’s most recent work, including local images of nature and sports, as wells a sample of her active portraits, will be available for show and tell, and sale.
Palaferri’s passion for photography is driven by how holding the camera and viewing objects through a lens forces her to be right in the moment with her subject, that artistic tension. She explains, “There are times when I’m out shooting, and I know it’s good. It’s just a feeling I have, that this one is going up on my wall. When that happens, I cannot wait to get home and get it into the computer.” The artist also says, “‘The World Through My Eyes,’ by Depeche Mode is one of my favorite songs, and its title sums up what photography is—a chance for others to see what I see, from the perspective I see it.”
