The
City of Auburn in partnership with Placer County is holding a Pharmaceutical
Waste Collection Event to take unwanted medications (both prescription and
over-the-counter) from citizens. Unwanted mediations should not be dumped into
the toilet or down the drain. Bring them to this free collection event.
What: Free Pharmaceutical Waste Collection Event –
drive through for quick drop off!
When: Saturday, October 11, 2008 from
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: City of Auburn Administration
Building parking lot at 1225 Lincoln Way
Who: Any Placer
County resident
Why: Unwanted medications poured down the drain or
toilet enter our waterways
and endanger aquatic wildlife. Dispose of them properly at this free collection
event.
All collected medications will be disposed of
properly through incineration and thus kept out of the waterways where they may
cause harm to aquatic wildlife. Any
medication except syringes or “sharps”
will be collected. Citizens are asked to black
out any personal information from prescription containers but leave the labels
intact.
