On Monday afternoon, Memorial Day, I found myself sitting in a shallow spot in the middle of Bear River with my baby on my lap thinking to myself, "This has got to be my favorite place on Earth". Looking up into the sky and all around me, I was surrounded by towering pine trees, the sound of the whispering wind and the water rushing by through the rocks and between my toes. I watched as my family and friends played on shore (more interested in shooting each other with water guns than listening to the sounds of nature) and I thought there was no place I would rather be right at that moment. What a feeling! I have always found this particular spot on Bear River to be such a tranquil and pristine place. I could not help but feel enveloped by the peace and harmony of nature.
