Fast and Friendly Service,  Sunday, 15 June 2008 Java Junction is the fastest and friendliest drive-thru coffee in Auburn. They have two drive-thru windows so the wait is never as long as at the big corporate chain in town. Service is always friendly and prices won't break your pocketbook. Easy access from Highway 49 and close to the freeway on-ramp as well. I'm not sure who the owner is, but I would guess it someone local. Thanks for the great customer service!

 Carpe Vino is no compromise,  Thursday, 20 March 2008 I just had my first opportunity to try out Carpe Vino a few weeks ago and was not disappointed. The ambiance created by the interior brick walls, low lighting, and local artwork displayed on an impressive cabling system was more than I expected. That is not to mention the terrific selection of wine and the most friendly staff you could ask for. I have been told by many the food is par excellence, but will have to discover that for myself the next time around. This is a great place to bring guests for a "taste of Auburn" or just enjoy a nice glass of wine with locals anytime.

 Great little bookstore!,  Sunday, 24 February 2008 I just found my way into Winston Smith for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! Owners have done a great job of making the place sunny and bright (even on a rainy day). Neat, well organized and extremely friendly and helpful service. I can't wait to go back next time without my kids so I can really look at all the hidden treasures.

 Joanne Pugh does awesome hair!,  Friday, 15 February 2008 I have been going to Joanne since I moved here almost six years ago. She gives awesome haircuts and does great color! She is also the nicest and friendliest gal you'll ever meet. I always look forward to our "chats" while she does my hair. Many of my neighbors and friends go to her for the same reasons.

 Pies out of this world - service is too!,  Friday, 02 November 2007 I was never much of a pie-lover until I moved to Auburn and discovered Machado Orchards. In addition to all their fresh produce, apple cider, caramel apples, etc. they have the best old-fashioned pies in town. I bake lots of cookies and cakes at home, but will never bake a pie when I can get one from Machado's that is so darn good. I always buy their pies for holidays, visitors (everyone always loves them) and anytime we feel like a good ol' American apple pie. A year or so ago I needed to pick up two pies and couldn't make it to the shop by closing time at 7 p.m. so Gary left the pies outside in a box for me and told me to slip my check under the door. Talk about service! Out of this world. Machado's is one of Auburn's true gems.

 Friendly, Fast, Professional Service,  Tuesday, 23 October 2007 Manager, Tim, was very helpful and friendly. He didn't even complain when he took the lid off the coolant and it exploded all over him. The gal that works at the front desk is extremely friendly. We have been getting our oil changed there for the last few years and have never been disappointed. Service is fast and friendly.

 Sub-par Service,  Tuesday, 23 October 2007 We made our annual obligatory trip to Chevy's and were reminded of why we only go there once a year. The service was sub-par and what was lacking in service was NOT made up for in the quality of the food. My tortilla soup was luke-warm (if that), my husband's top-shelf margarita tasted horrible and the fish tacos were just okay. Everything including the rice, beans, soup and entrees seemed extra spicy hot. Also, my husband's entree' arrived when everyone else was almost finished with theirs. The only saving grace is that the manager comped his meal as well as all three margaritas! Oh yeah, the tortilla dough kept the kids busy and happy. Can't say that I will be returning anytime soon, and the Bay Area visitor we brought along was definitely not impressed.

 Great Food, Great Service!,  Friday, 28 September 2007 Tried this place in Colfax for the first time on a busy Sunday afternoon. Even though we had a very large party, they were able to accommodate our group in an almost-private area (with no reservation). The service was good even though they were slammed, and the food was great all the way around. I will definitely go back for more. Very friendly staff!

 Pumpkin cream pies rock!,  Thursday, 21 June 2007 I've haven't tried the BBQ yet, but I have to say the pumpkin cream pies are out of this world. It is worth it to go there just for a slice of pie (or take a whole one home).
