Cheese, beautiful cheese, This is the most spectacular, mouth watering dessert my mouth has experienced in a long while. Baked sweet Ricotta pudding with a dark chocolate sauce and baked raspberries. My partner found the recipe in July's gourmet magazine and added his twist. In the Gourmet mag recipe the pudding is served with roasted grapes.

With the fourth of July approaching the planning is underway for a family get together and for me this means great food which equals lots of play time in the kitchen for chefs of all ages.

My quilty pleasure........

Ever since I can remember the process of baking cookies made it all better. If I was sad, heart broken or lonely my mom would bring me into the kitchen and we would bake.

We sometimes did not even talk. My mom did things from scratch. I love organizing the bowls, spoons, all the ingredients. Feeling the oven warm.

By the time the mixing started whatever was weighing my heart down do not seem so big.

Met KAHI Sales Manager Bob Ripley today for a pleasant lunch at The Monkey Cat in Downtown Auburn where we were told by owner Trish that husband Jim Bril is recovering from knee surgery and will return in a month. Bob and I enjoyed our fish tacos and appreciated the attentive service by the dark-haired waitress with the easy smile. Bob and I enjoyed our radio/community connections and agreed to connect again very soon. Best wishes, Jim, for a speedy recovery.

Kudos to KAHI Manager Jerry Henry who pulled off quite a nice happening at the Monkey Cat restaurant in Downtown Auburn. Safeway is shaping up

The new Safeway (in the building that used to be Pak N Save) is shaping up into a very nice store. It is still under remodel but the Bakery & Deli departments had their grand opening today. The displays are very well-done as they invite you to select something scrumptious-looking. This makes for a pleasant shopping experience as long as you don't have two wiggley-whiney kids like I do. Just tried a new recipe for ribs that was a huge hit, so I thought I would share since Father's Day is coming up soon. My husband raved about these ribs all night and I was happy because they were very easy to prepare (not a two-day marinade process like so many other recipes). Recently, it was reported in the Auburn Journal that Trader Joe's is planning a store in Auburn, California.

If true, this is really great news! If the rumors are true, the new Trader Joe's location will be in the old Ralph's Supermarket at the corner of Highway 49 and Bell Road.

Some of the great products that Trader Joe's carries include their very famous "Charles Shaw" wines for only $2 a bottle. Commonly referred to as "Two Buck Chuck".. [...]
