A giant crane was used to place a 7-ton pedestrian bridge over the “daylighted” and free-flowing North Rich Ravine, commonly referred to as Lincoln Creek, in the Auburn School Park Preserve behind City Hall. Auburn Public Works Director Jack Warren, right, was one of the first to stroll across the span. Warren is overseeing the $4 million Corps of Engineers project on behalf of the city. The steel and redwood bridge was built in Santa Fe Springs, Los Angeles County, at a cost of $148,000 and then trucked to Auburn. The park will be open to the public next spring. For more photos, see the Sentinel's print edition.
