Cheers and Jeers (09/19/07)
JEERS to the Sentinel. In recent editions, the Sentinel shrunk the "Kidding Around" page to half its normal size, making it almost impossible to read. One had to get out a magnifying glass to read the crossword puzzle clues and to scribble in letters in the crossword boxes themselves. – M.P. (Editor’s note: We are aware of the difficulty with the new size, and with this edition, you will find a new and easier to read crossword puzzle.)
CHEERS to the person who replaced the stolen American flag at the Victorian Attic. We’re truly grateful and CHEERS to the Sentinel for getting out the word about the stolen flag in the first place. – S.H.
CHEERS to those who respected the U.S. flag carried by veterans leading the Gold Country Fair Opening Parade and JEERS to those who didn’t. – F.P.

CHEERS to Supervisor Bruce Kranz for making the new stop signs at the intersection of Mt. Vernon and Joeger roads possible. Also, CHEERS to Placer County Public Works for the fine work they did. That was a dangerous intersection– C.G.

Cheers and Jeers (9/5/07)
JEERS to the owner of the property at the corner of Haines and Dry Creek Rd that has dumped an uncountable number of old cars right next to Dry Creek. There must be a hundred and I can’t imagine that something isn’t leaking into the creek. It is also an eyesore for all the neighbors. JEERS to the county for not investigating and forcing some type of cleanup. – B.J.M.
CHEERS to Therese Pope for her letter to the editor regarding Gary Moffat’s column. I wanted to cheer for someone finally standing up to his negative, snobbish ways. Move back to wherever you came from Gary. We enjoy positive and real people in our community. – B.B.
