However, since Auburn does not have a lot of BBQ places, this joint will survive due to lack of competition.
I consider cleanliness important in overall atmosphere considerations, and when you consider what might end up in your potato salad -or- pumpkin cream pie.
However, having eaten at two different functions catered by Savannah's and not getting sick, I'm going to overlook the other reviewer's comments and say that this is just slightly above average BBQ fare, compared to what you can find in the "Flatlands."
I have to agree with James. The promise of good BBQ will let me overlook a lot of things that would bother other people, but this place scared me. It was very dirty, but nobody seemed to care. I wanted to try the pie, but they were out-and that was that! The food had the potential to be good, but it seemed expensive and not worth the chance of risking intestinal poisoning. Best to stay at home and put on hot dog on the grill.

Savanna's Southern BBQ Pies & Ice Cream
First off, I would like to give the feel of the store.
When I Entered the Restaurant it was dirty, very disorganized and unprofeshional. The Restaurant did not feel like any regular American family restrant. It was like a place in ran down Nevada. I had a barbeque chicken Sandwich, that was big in Size, but only tasting of Barbeque slop. The Mac and cheeses was more like Mac the truck Driver on a hot Day... In the End I give it a 2.5 rating but with the right help they have lot of potential. To make a lot of money, Good luck
I've haven't tried the BBQ yet, but I have to say the pumpkin cream pies are out of this world. It is worth it to go there just for a slice of pie (or take a whole one home).
