State of California inspectors have given the Foresthill Bridge near Auburn a clean bill of health in the wake of the collapse of a similarly-built span in Minneapolis MN last week.

Caltrans bridge specialists spent several hours inspecting the
2,428-foot-long span over the American River’s north fork last Friday
and said it was in “super shape,” according to District 3 Caltrans
spokesman Mark Dinger.
The County of Placer is responsible for maintaining the bridge, which
was erected in the early 1970s at a cost of $13 million as a unit of
the never-built Auburn Dam Project. It was opened to the public on
Labor Day, 1973. The bridge soars 730 feet — about 70 stories — above
the river.
