Bids for the re-roofing of Placer County’s two decades-old main jail at DeWitt Center in North Auburn are scheduled to be opened next Thursday, August 30 at 3:30 p.m. in the county office of procurement services, also at DeWitt Center.

The job includes installing approximately 37,500 square feet of new PVC single ply roofing over the existing roof, tapered insulation at areas of ponding, and new walk pads to mechanical units. A bid alternate calls for acrylic coating on 19,500 square feet of EPDM roofing and more walk pads.

County officials are estimating the work, including the bid alternate, to cost $420,000. Questions should be directed to Bob Veerkamp, project manager, at (530) 886-4949.
