Since its opening in 2002, DarkHorse Golf Club in Auburn, has raced to the top of the golf world with surprising speed. Award after award has been showered on this course, designed by Keith Foster, on a site that lies in the Sierra Nevada foothills.
Golf Magazine chose DarkHorse as one of its Top 10 You Can Play in America; Golf Digest honored DarkHorse as one of its Best New Affordable Public Courses. The Sacramento Bee voted the club as its No. 1 course to play in the Sacramento area within six months of our opening.
Went to Darkhorse a few weeks ago. Nature at its finest. Had a lesson/interview with Terry Love, golf instructor at Darkhorse Golf Club. He was so much fun. Lost the keys while up there. Terry was so kind to take me home, get the spare set and drive me back to Darkhorse. The next day, the keys were found. Excellent Customer Service. Not only Terry, but one of the workers Brent helped to look for the keys too. They were found near a rock up by The Golf Academy.
Have yet to play at Darkhorse, looking forward to it though!
Yes, golfers, DH is still standing, albeit in transition. DH is a beautiful course with nature at its best. Although I have played only nine holes, I very much enjoyed the serene setting and the beautiful greens. I also took a teaching lesson with friendly, fun-loving instructor Terry Love, whom I highly recommend because Love loves teaching and we enjoy the ride.
