Sierra College Athletic Director John Volek announced recently the collaboration with Stockmans Bank that will bring the Stockmans Bank Bowl to Homer “Buzz” Ostrom Stadium. The game will play Saturday, November 17 at 1 p.m.
“Stockmans Bank has a solid respect and admiration for John Volek and
Coach Jeff Tisdal for what they have accomplished at Sierra College,”
said Gary Wright, President/CEO of Stockmans Bank. “Wolverine Athletics
are first class and Stockmans Bank is proud to sponsor a bowl game that
will crown a champion of junior college football.”
The game will be one of 14 bowl games played in the state with the two
participating schools being chosen one week prior to the event by the
California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Football
Championship Committee.
“It’s an honor for Sierra College to be a part of this event,” said
Volek. “And we really want to get the community involved. With our new
stadium and our partnership with Stockmans Bank this event has a chance
to be a real jewel for the region.”
