Mayor Bob Snyder and the city council commended the Auburn Community Cancer Endowment Fund this week. Accepting the honor from the mayor were Bart O’Brien, center, who chairs the endowment’s board of directors, and Dr. Ralph deVere White, director of the UC Davis Cancer Center. The endowment, started six years ago by Dick Azevedo, Virgil Traynor, Merv Hall and Norma Harris, now exceeds more than $1.5 million and supports UC Davis’ cancer research activities.
