Fall Brewfest is Saturday in Auburn

Saturday’s 12th annual Fall Brewfest, to be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Ridge in Auburn, features microbrews, appetizers from local restaurants, a silent auction and live music by Catfish and the Crawdaddies. Tickets are $45 at the door. For more information, call 530-885-9500.

Get in the holiday spirit early at craft fair

The 8th Annual Holiday in the Pines Gift and Gourmet Food Fair will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Foresthill. The event will feature dozens of vendors selling homemade crafts, gifts and gourmet foods. There will also be activities for the kids, entertainment, demonstrations, decorating ideas, glamour makeovers, food sampling and more.

E.V. Cain school hosts spaghetti dinner

E.V. Cain Middle School will host a “DC Troopers 2008 Red & Green Spaghetti Dinner” on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. at 150 Palm Ave. in the school gym in Auburn. Cost is $10 per adult or $5 per child under 10. The dinner includes a hearty helping of pasta with your choice of meat sauce or pesto, garlic bread, salad and a beverage. Dessert will be available for purchase. There will be a raffle and entertainment. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 530-888-6018.

Storytelling, poetry featured in Auburn

On Sunday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., “Grateful Hearts,” an afternoon of story, dance and poetry to benefit PlacerArts, will feature storyteller Joan Stockbridge and dancer Suzanne Grace at The Arts Building, 808 Lincoln Way, in Auburn.
