One of the proudest units in Sunday’s parade was comprised of veterans of the Vietnam War. Now mostly in their 50s and 60s, they were young people when they enlisted or were drafted to fight in the conflict that claimed the lives of 58,168 of their comrades. “We remain proud to have served our country in that conflict,” said Larry Webber, one of the organizers of the Vietnam veterans’ unit.
