‘Hot’ golf ball case is resolved |
|
The case of the hot golf balls is over. Gregg M. Pistochini, 41, an Auburn area resident and prominent harness racehorse owner, pleaded guilty last week to a misdemeanor charge involving receiving stolen property — thousands of dollars worth of premium golf balls. Pistochini, who was arrested by Placer County sheriff’s investigators last September, was placed on probation for three years and ordered to perform 120 days of community service. Part of his probation is a 60-day county jail sentence, which possibly could be served alternatively under house arrest or being monitored. Investigators said Pistochini bought stolen golf balls from a shoplifter in Sacramento and then sold them by the dozen on eBay.
